Trends
The Trends view displays daily, weekly, and monthly changes in your Sleep, Readiness, and Activity scores and contributors.
How to Use Trends in the Oura App
- Select the menu
in the upper left-hand corner of the Home
tab.
- Tap Trends
.
- Here you'll find values for Heart rate variability, Body temperature, and Bedtime at the top of the screen, with Sleep, Readiness, and Activity listed at the bottom.
- The trend arrows next to the HRV and bedtime values indicate if your 7-day average is going up or down compared to the previous 7-day average.
- Oura measures difference in body temperature rather than absolute values. The reading on the Trends screen indicates if last night's average body temperature was higher or lower than your long-term average.
- Tap any of these elements to view their trend graphs. Each graph—except for body temperature—provides daily, weekly, and monthly views.
Daily view
The large value at the top of the screen is the most current data for that particular metric, and matches the data displayed in your Readiness, Sleep, or Activity tabs. In the above screenshot, it is the highest HRV from the previous night.
The smaller value on the far left of the graph, and the bright dotted line in the middle of the graph, represent the average of this displayed metric for the past 90 days.
Weekly view
The large value at the top of the screen is the average of the current week. The smaller value to the left of the graph is the average of all the weekly averages since the beginning of your data.
Monthly view
The large value at the top of the screen is the average of the current month. The smaller value to the left of the graph is the average of all the monthly averages since the beginning of your data.
Body Temperature Graph
Oura measure changes in your skin temperature, and displays these values as fluctuations (+/-) from your personal baseline. The closer the reading is to 0.0, the closer your current skin temperature is to your long-term average.
The Daily view of the Body temperature graph displays the same value you see in your Readiness tab—this value is the average of your skin temperature readings taken throughout the previous night.
Each date in the Trend view displays a weighted average of how your body temperature varies from your baseline based on a three-day window. Days closer to the current date will have more of an impact on your readings.
