In some cases, an Oura Ring may be disabled. A disabled ring cannot pair with the Oura App or collect new data. When this happens, the Oura App will display a screen with two options: Contact Oura Member Care or Remove this ring from your app.
If you have more than one Oura Ring on your account, your other devices will continue to work normally.
Why an Oura Ring Gets Disabled
Oura Ring may be disabled for one of the following reasons:
- A warranty replacement was issued and the original Oura Ring was disabled
- Oura Ring is linked to a reported loss or shipping issue
- Oura Ring is associated with a prior issue related to the original purchase
- A hardware or safety concern was identified
Warranty Replacements and Your Original Oura Ring
When a warranty replacement is issued for certain hardware or safety reasons, the original device is deactivated as part of the standard replacement process. Your replacement Oura Ring is now your active device.
To check your active devices, open the Oura App and tap the battery icon in the upper-right corner to go to My Devices.
For help setting up your replacement Oura Ring, see Set Up an Oura Ring.
To recycle your original device, see the Oura Device Recycling Program.
Oura Ring Purchased From a Third-Party Seller
Oura can only verify rings purchased from Oura or authorized retail partners. Oura Ring devices purchased from unauthorized resellers may be stolen, previously reported as lost, associated with payment fraud, or otherwise ineligible for activation, warranty service, support, or continued use. Oura may block or disable an Oura Ring if we determine it is associated with fraud, theft, account misuse, or other activity that violates our terms.
Oura Ring Reported As Lost
If a lost Oura Ring was disabled as part of a replacement or account protection process, it may not be eligible for re-enablement. Contact us if your situation has changed, for example, if you recovered the device and no replacement was issued.
When a Disabled Oura Ring Can Be Re-Enabled
In limited cases, a disabled Oura Ring may be eligible for review, but not all devices can be re-enabled. If you believe your Oura Ring was disabled in error, contact us with the following ready:
- Your Oura account email address
- Where and when you purchased your Oura Ring
- Any proof of purchase (order confirmation, receipt, or invoice)
Our team will review your case and follow up.
