If you've misplaced your Oura Ring or Oura Ring Charging Case, you can use the Locate feature in the Oura App.

Locate is available for:

How to Use Locate

Locate helps you find a misplaced Oura device using two capabilities: map and nearby search. Locate supports multiple Oura devices, so you can locate them all from the same place.

Map view

Map view shows where your Oura devices are located based on the last time they connected to your Oura App. When you open Locate, you'll see your devices plotted on a map along with the last known location and the connection status (e.g., connected, disconnected, in charger). To see map view, you’ll need to enable location services on your phone.

Map view only reflects locations recorded before your device went missing. If you enable location services after misplacing your device, it won't appear on the map.

Nearby search view

Nearby search uses your phone to detect your Oura device's Bluetooth signal, helping you pinpoint it once you're nearby. As you move, the signal range varies from Weak signal, Nearby, Very close, and Right here. Bluetooth sensing works even if you haven't enabled location services on the Oura App. Nearby search view works best when your phone is in the same room or apartment as your Oura device

To use Locate:

  1. Tap the Icon Bars Menu.png menu in the upper-left corner, then tap My Devices. Alternatively, you can tap Icon Ring Battery.png battery icon in the upper-right corner of the Today tab, then tap My Devices
  2. Tap Locate
    • If you have location services enabled, you’ll see a map view with your Oura devices
    • If you don’t have location services enabled, you can try using nearby search based on Bluetooth signal strength in the next step
  3. Tap Search next to your Oura device to use the nearby search view. Move around with your mobile phone to get closer to the Bluetooth signal of your Oura device.

If Locate is not working as expected, then you can check the following:

  • Review your mobile device’s settings to ensure location services are enabled for the Oura App.
  • Review your device's settings to ensure it is not running in low battery mode. The Locate feature will not work if your phone is low on battery
  • If your misplaced device has run out of battery and is turned off, then nearby search based on Bluetooth signal won’t work
