Troubleshooting Oura Ring Charging Cases
Before You Start
Before troubleshooting, make sure:
- Your Oura Ring is set up and connected to the Oura App
- Your Oura Ring Charging Case is paired and connected to the Oura App, and connected to a power source
- You have the latest software and firmware version installed for both your Oura Ring and charging case
Step 1: Check if the Ring is Charging Normally
If the ring doesn't charge in the charging case:
- Try charging your Oura Ring with the charging dock
- If the ring also doesn’t charge with the charging dock, the issue may be with the ring itself.
Step 2: Check Bluetooth Connection for the Oura Ring Charging Case
To confirm your charging case is connected via Bluetooth:
- Open the Oura App
- Go to the My Devices page by tapping on the
menu in the upper-left corner or the
battery icon in the upper-right corner of the Today tab
- Tap on your Oura Ring Charging case
- Under the charging case details
- If it says Connected (when the case is unplugged), the connection is active
- If it’s not connected, it will show the last time it was connected. See Troubleshooting Connection Issues
- If the charging case is plugged in, empty (no ring inside), and the LED shows a solid blue light, the case is not be paired to the Oura App. Follow the instructions to pair your charging case
Step 3: Check the Oura Ring Charging Case LED Indicator
To check the LED:
- Open the lid of the charging case without your Oura Ring inside
- If the LED doesn't light up when the case is plugged in:
- Try rotating each end of the USB-C cable 180º
- Try using a different USB-C cable
- Try connecting the case to a different power source or adapter, such as a USB wall plug, laptop, or power brick

Oura Ring Connection Issues While Charging
If your phone is out of Bluetooth range of your charging case, you won't be able check the case’s latest battery level or receive any ring charging notifications.
If your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on, but your Oura Ring isn’t connecting to the Oura App while it’s in the charging case, try the following:
- Move your phone closer to the charging case
- Open the lid of the charging case to help initiate the connection
- Troubleshoot the connection
