If you experience trouble while attempting a firmware update, try the following:
- Ensure your ring's battery level is at least 50% when attempting to update your firmware
- Ensure your ring is connected throughout the updating process—don’t close the app or toggle your Bluetooth on/off while the update is taking place
- Keep your device's screen unlocked during the update to prevent potential interruptions
- Make sure your device’s operating system is up to date. You can check this by opening your phone's Settings
- Restart your phone
- Attempt the firmware update in a room where the signal interference is low (no other devices nearby)
- If you’re unable to see the firmware update, uninstall and reinstall the Oura App, then check the Home
tab for a firmware update message
- Attempt the firmware update through a different device (e.g., a tablet)
If none of the above steps help with the firmware issue, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Oura on your phone:
- Complete a data backup by tapping the menu
on the Home
tab >
Settings > Back up all data
- Delete the Oura App from your device
- Reinstall the Oura App
- Place your ring on the charger, ensuring the small light on the front of the charger appears
- Go to your device's Bluetooth settings
- Locate your ring in the list of connected Bluetooth devices (e.g., “oura_A038xxxxxxxx”) and tap the ⓘ to unpair/forget the device
- Unpair other connected Bluetooth devices to eliminate potential interference with the Bluetooth signal
- Make sure the ring is on the charger and charger is plugged in
- Relaunch the Oura App
- Follow the in-app onboarding flow to set up your ring
