With multi-ring support, Oura members can connect more than one Oura Ring to their Oura App and quickly switch between them. Note that this feature only supports wearing and syncing data from one Oura Ring at a time. The Oura App will sync the collected data only from the Oura Ring that is set as active.
Members can use multi-ring support to change between Oura Ring styles for different occasions, and to allow continuous data tracking by using one Oura Ring while the other is charging.

Using More Than One Oura Ring
A minimum of two rings is required to use this feature. There is no limit for how many can be added to the Oura App, but your phone's operating system may limit the number of Bluetooth devices that can be paired to your phone.
Add a Second Oura Ring
- Go to the My Devices page by tapping on the
menu in the upper-left corner or the
battery icon in the upper-right corner of the Today tab
- Tap on "Set up a new device"
- Select Oura Ring > "Add a new ring"
- Follow the in-app instructions to pair your new ring
- Once the the second ring is set up, both rings will be listed on the My Devices page
You can repeat these setup steps to add even more rings. Your currently active ring will be shown at the top of the My Devices page, with any inactive rings and their battery levels listed below it. Battery levels are updated whenever an inactive ring is within Bluetooth range of your device.
Switch to a Second Oura Ring
On the My Devices page, tap "Activate" below the ring that you want to switch to. The Oura App will sync with the current ring's data before switching to the second ring. If it is unable to sync the data or switch to a new ring, make sure your rings are charged and within Bluetooth range.
Note: wearing an inactive Oura Ring will turn on its sensors, which will consume ring battery. Do not leave your Oura Ring on the charger for an extended period of time, as this can cause battery degradation.
If you plan on taking a break from wearing your ring (for more than two weeks), we recommend charging your ring above 50% and then placing your ring in Power Saving Mode before storing it.
Name Your Oura Ring
You can rename each Oura Ring to more easily identify them. This name is only visible within the Oura App and does not affect Bluetooth settings.
- On the My Devices page, select the ring that you want to name (either active or inactive)
- Select the "Name" field
- Enter a name for your Oura Ring
- Select "done"
If you are having trouble telling which Oura Ring is the active one, place one ring on the charger and then check the My Devices page in your app. The battery status of the ring on the charger will change to "charging."
Remove a Ring
- On the My Devices page, select the ring you wish to remove
- Scroll down and select "Remove ring"
- Select "Remove" or "Reset and remove"
If you remove your active ring, the Oura App will automatically switch to another ring on your list, which must be charged and within Bluetooth range.
The Oura Ring is intended to be connected only to one account at a time. To avoid connectivity issues or missing data, be sure to factory reset your Oura Ring and remove it from your phone's Bluetooth settings when unlinking it from your account, or before attempting to pair the ring to a different account.
Troubleshooting Multi-Ring Support
Gaps in Data
The Oura App will attempt to sync data from the active ring before switching to a second ring. If your active ring does not have enough battery or is out of Bluetooth range, your data will not be synced. This will show in the app as missing data.
If you receive an error message when attempting to sync your data, place your active ring on the charger and try again.
On iOS: to ensure continuous data collection, the app will not activate a second ring if that ring cannot be connected to. If you receive an error message when attempting to switch to a different ring, place your inactive ring on the charger and try again.
Note that even if you have been wearing an inactive ring on your finger, its data will not sync with the app. Only data from the active ring will be synced.
If your rings are charged and within Bluetooth range, and you are still having trouble switching rings, please try the steps in our Troubleshooting Connection Issues article.
Data Discrepancies
Small variations in the ring manufacturing process may cause discrepancies in data recorded by different rings. These differences are known to affect activity and Cardiovascular Age (CVA) data.
To minimize discrepancies in your Oura data, try to consistently wear your Oura Ring on the same finger each time (e.g. the ring finger of your non-dominant hand). This will provide the most consistent readings even when you switch rings.
