Menopause Insights

Menopause Insights is replacing Perimenopause Check-In and is gradually rolling out to members on May 6, 2026, over the next week or so. If you currently use Perimenopause Check-In, you can expect to see Menopause Insights in the Oura App once it becomes available to you.

Menopause Insights is designed to support women ages 35–60 during the menopausal transition. It helps track symptoms, offer care recommendations, and provide educational content tailored to your experience. Menopause Insights is available for:

This feature is not available on Gen2 or older.

To use Menopause Insights, you’ll also need to meet these criteria in My Profile:

  • Selected Female or Other as sex assigned at birth
  • Between the ages of 35 and 60

Women's Health Intentions

By selecting one more more women's health intentions, you can personalize your app experience based on your current reproductive goals.

How to Use Menopause Insights

You can access the feature from the Women’s Health settings.

  • Tap on the Icon Bars Menu.png menu in the upper-left corner of the Today tab
  • Go to Settings > Women’s Health
  • Toggle on Menopause Insights

When you turn on Menopause Insights for the first time, you’ll be prompted to complete the Menopause Impact Scale (MIS), a clinical questionnaire used to understand how perimenopause-related symptoms are affecting your daily life.

MIS asks about common symptoms of perimenopause. For each symptom, choose the response that best describes how it has impacted your quality of life on a five-point scale (from “None” to “Extremely”). The survey takes a few minutes to complete.

If you don’t answer all the questions, your answers won’t be saved, but you can return and complete the survey at any time.

Viewing Your Results

After completing MIS, you can view your results and an overall impact level in the My Health tab. The overall impact level is based on an average across the seven categories of symptoms. Tap the Menopause Insights card to see detailed views, including:

  • A breakdown of symptoms by category and their impact based on your most recent responses:
    • Cognitive
    • Sexual/genital
    • Self perception
    • Muscolosketal
    • Sleep
    • Vasomotor
  • A downloadable report that includes your most relevant symptoms, their impact on your quality of life, and any trend data
  • Educational resources

You’ll receive a reminder to retake MIS every 30 days so you can track changes in your symptoms over time. Skipping a reminder won't erase anything; your past results stay available. You can also retake the assessment at any time by tapping the Menopause Insights card in the My Health tab.

Turning Menopause Insights Off

If you no longer want to use Menopause Insights or receive reminders, go to your Women’s Health settings and toggle the feature off. The card will no longer appear in your My Health tab, but your data will be saved so you can turn the feature back on and resume tracking your symptoms at any time.

If you have additional questions about your symptoms, consult a medical professional.

How to Use Perimenopause Check-in

To enable Perimenopause Check-in, tap on the Manage perimenopause intention. Perimenopause Check-In is only available in English.

You can access the feature from

  • A home card on the Today tab
  • Through the Icon Bars Menu.png menu
  • In Cycle Insights, under Reports

Perimenopause Check-in is a short survey where you can assess the severity of your symptoms on a five-point scale (from “None” to “Very Severe”). The survey takes 2-3 minutes to complete.

After completing the survey, you'll receive:

  • A breakdown of symptoms by category
    • Somatic: Includes hot flashes, night sweats, heart discomfort, sleep issues, and joint or muscle pain
    • Psychological: Includes mood changes, irritability, anxiety, fatigue, and brain fog
    • Urogenital: Includes changes in sexual function, bladder issues, and vaginal dryness or discomfort
  • An overall impact score on your quality of life
  • A downloadable Perimenopause Report that includes your most relevant symptoms from the past 60 days
  • Educational resources

You’ll be prompted to retake the survey every 30 days, but you can retake the survey at any time from the Icon Bars Menu.png menu. You can also track symptoms using tags.

If you have additional questions about your perimenopause symptoms, consult a medical professional.
