Power Saving Mode

If you plan on taking a break from using your Oura device, we recommend putting them in power saving mode. This will help prevent potential battery deterioration.

Oura Ring

To enable power saving mode:

  1. Ensure that you have a stable internet connection
  2. Place your ring on the charger for a few minutes
  3. Open the Oura App and wait for the latest sync
  4. Back up your data:
    • Tap on the Icon Bars Menu menu in the upper-left corner of the home screen
    • Select Settings > Back up all data
  5. When the backup is complete, take your ring off the charger and place it on a flat surface
  6. Factory reset your ring
    • Tap the Icon Bars Menu menu in the upper-left corner > My Devices, or tap the  ring battery level icon battery icon in the upper-right corner to go directly to the My Devices page
    • Tap Factory reset
  7. When the factory reset is complete, leave the ring off the charger and keep it on a flat surface without moving it for two minutes. This allows the ring to enter power saving mode if you're storing the ring
  8. In your device's Bluetooth settings, remove your Oura Ring from the list of connected devices

Your Oura App will ask you to reconnect your ring. Do not proceed to reconnect it. After two minutes, your ring will go into power saving mode and can be stored safely.

To start using your Oura Ring again, simply place your ring on its charger and follow the in-app instructions reconnect your ring with the Oura App.

Keep in mind: Storing your Oura Ring for an extended period of time (2+ weeks) without following these steps may affect the longevity of your battery and its performance.


Oura Ring Charging Case

  1. Remove your Oura Ring from the Oura Ring Charging Case
  2. If you're planning to ship the charging case, make sure it has at least 20–30% charge. If you're planning to store it at home, charge it to around 60%.
  3. Disconnect the charging case from the power source
  4. Open the charging case lid
  5. Go to the My Devices page by tapping on the Icon Bars Menu.png menu in the upper-left corner or the Icon Ring Battery.png battery icon in the upper-right corner of the Today tab
  6. Select the charging case you want to reset 
  7. Tap on "Remove device"
  8. Follow the in-app instructions to factory reset
  9. In your device's Bluetooth settings, remove your charging case from the list of connected devices

Store your changing case with the lid closed.

To start using your charging case again, reconnect it to your Oura App.
