You can use this list to see if an issue affecting your Oura Ring or App is already known. Our team updates this list weekly and will remove fixed issues after six months. The newest issues can be viewed at the top of the page, and more details and/or workarounds can be found below. To find a specific issue, use the search function on your browser. 
 

You can use the statuses below as a reference, and as a shortcut to jump to the case. 

Open • the issue is either new or simply a product imperfection.

In Progress • our team is aware of the issue and is actively working on a fix.

Fixed • the issue has been resolved.

Issue 3004 | Logging period does not begin new cycle

Affecting | iOS users on version 7.15.1 or newer

Status | Open

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report a new cycle is not starting after logging a new period log that is 12-days or more apart from the previous logged entry. 

Workaround(s): Following the below steps have resolved the issue for some m:

Could you please delete all periods from (ADD DATES of the logs that are not recognized)
Manually back up your data by following these steps:

  • Place your ring on the charger

  • Open the Oura App

  • Tap the menu icon (☰) in the upper left corner
    -Select "Settings"
    -Under Account, select "Back up all data

  • After that, please delete and reinstall the Oura App

  • Finally, add your periods back in chronological order."

Issue 3024 | Live Activity Tracking doesn't appear in latest app version

Description: We are aware of an issue where the Oura App may show Workout Heart Rate instead of Live Activity.

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report their Oura Ring successfully records exercise activities but fails to capture heart rate data.

Issue 2948 | Data collection freeze causing missing data

Affecting | iOS users on version 7.11.0 or newer

Description: We are aware of an issue where ring data collection can stop temporarily, which may lead to missing sleep, temperature, or activity data in the app.

Issue 2988 | Historical cycle insights may appear as unknown after update

Affecting | Android users on version 7.14.0 or newer

Description: We are aware of an issue where historical ovulation and cycle phase data may no longer appear after certain Women’s Health questionnaire settings are updated.

Issue 2951 | Oura App language changes automatically after update

Affecting | Members whose Oura App language changed automatically after update (newly released languages)

Status | Open

Description: We are aware of an issue where, after updating the app to a version that introduces new languages, the Oura App language may automatically switch from English to one of the newly released languages based on your device or app settings. This can be confusing, especially when some features are only available in English.

Workaround(s): You can change the Oura App language back to English or another supported language from the app’s language settings. Step-by-step instructions are also available in Oura App Languages.

Issue 2382 | Active Calories May Appear Higher Than Expected

Description: We are aware of an issue where some Android members report they see active calorie burn displayed higher than expected in the Oura App when activity data is recorded from multiple sources. In some cases, the same calories may appear to be counted more than once.

Description: We are aware of an issue where some Android members report certain Weekly Reports are missing in the Oura App, even though their underlying data is available.

Issue 2404 | Caffeine Reduction feature not working as expected in Oura Labs 

Affecting | Android users on version 6.2.2 or newer

Status | Open

Description: We are aware of an issue where some Android members report they are unable to respond to the consumed caffeine prompts in Oura Labs. In these cases, the selection buttons may not work, members may be unable to add "Caffeine" or "No Caffeine" tags, and the experiment may remain on the home screen unexpectedly.

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report the temperature deviation is missing from the Readiness Tab, Cycle insights and trends.

Issue 2181 | Unable to Edit Overlapping Long Sleep Periods

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report their long sleep is being recorded twice - multiple periods overlap displaying incorrect results.

Issue 2821 | Blank Option in Blood Pressure Study Questionnaire

Affecting | Android users on version 7.7.0 or newer

Description: We are aware of an issue where members will see a blank option while completing the BP questionnaire. Blank option shouldn't be selected, we recommend selecting only applicable medical condition options listed or none.

Issue 2886 | Persistent missing Blood Oxygen Data

Description: We are aware of an issue where Blood Oxygen Sensing data may not appear in the app even when the feature is turned on.

Issue 2714 | Persistent "Waiting for Sleep" Message

Affecting | Android users on version 7.3.0 or newer

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report that the "Waiting for Sleep" message is stuck on the main screen. All sleep, naps, and activities are detected correctly and are visible int he app on their dedicated screens.

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report that they are missing Cumulative Stress data in their Oura App.

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report that their sleep data appears duplicated (e.g., 8 hours displays as 16 hours).

Wrap-around: Currently no wrap around. We are working on a fix.

Description: We are aware of an issue where members are reporting they are seeing consistent gaps in their Daytime Stress graphs.

Issue 2692 | Partial data missing in Oura App timeline

Affecting | Android users on version 6.14.0 or newer

Description: We are aware of an issue where members are reporting they are missing data from their timeline view in the Oura App homepage. 
Workaround(s): All data is available when going into Vitals, then selecting corresponding tabs in the Oura App. (Readiness, Sleep, Activity, Stress)

Description: We are aware of an issue where members are reporting that their ring suggest a workout even if no clear or obvious activity occurred.

Issue 2477 | VO2 Max - Walking Test Fails

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report the Walking Test fails and is not saving in the data summary even when all conditions required are being met.

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report they receive a Notification mentions Activity goal has been achieved when it has not yet been.

Issue 2164 | Meditation sessions taking place before bedtime are included as awake time in the bedtime visual.

Affecting | iOS users on version 6.2.3 or newer

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report their meditation sessions are being logged as awake time in the sleep hypnogram.
Workaround(s): Use the Edit bedtime feature to remove the incorrect data from the bedtime.

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report Active Calorie burn after completing a workout is significantly lower than anticipated. 
Workaround(s): TBD.

Description: Inaccurate step counts have been reported, discrepancy between actual physical activity and the data recorded by the Oura app.

Issue 2970 | Error may prevent completion of the Menopause Insights survey

Affecting | Android users on version 7.13.1

Status | In Progress 

Description: We are aware of an issue where members may encounter an error when trying to complete the Menopause Insights survery, which prevents the survey from being submitted successfully. 

Workaround(s): Log out of the Oura App, then sign back in. After signing back in, the survey should load and complete normally.

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report when using the Oura Advisor feature the chat does not open, or members receives an error message, "Please try again." 

Workaround: Deleting and reinstalling the app may solve the issue temporarily.

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report missing sleep data on Oura Ring 4 and Oura Ring 5 even though sleep criteria is met. 

Workaround(s): Update Oura App to the latest version 7.18.2

  1. If missing sleep is still occurring after updating to the latest app version: 
  2. Review/Check Location permissions for the Oura App
    1. Select Settings
    2. Select Apps 
    3. Select Oura
    4. Location -> Select Always (or Never)

Description: We are aware of an issue where members report their Hormone selections revert to the previous settings after updating to app version 7.7.0. 

Workaround(s): After selecting new hormone option or None in Women's Health settings: 

  1. Force quit the Oura App 
  2. Reopen the Oura App, new selection will be saved.
