Oura Ring Chargers are size- and generation-specific.
The USB charging power cord is intended to be supplied by an external 5Vdc supply that complies with EN 62368-1 standard.

Troubleshooting Without the Ring on the Charging Dock
First, check the charging dock using the steps below.
Oura Ring 5 and Oura Ring 4 Charging Docks
1. Connect the charging dock: connect the charging cable to a power source and the charging dock without placing the ring on it.
2. Check the charging dock light:
- If the charging dock light doesn't illuminate:
- Try rotating each end of the charging cable 180º
- Try using a different power source, such as a USB wall plug, laptop, or power brick
- Try using a different USB-C cable
- If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, the charging dock may have a problem. You can contact us for assistance or purchase a standalone charging set from the Oura online store or select retailers
- If the charging dock light blinks yellow or red:
- Try using a different power source, such as a USB wall plug, laptop, or power brick
- If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, contact us
- If the charging dock light illuminates white and then fades away, it's working as expected.

Oura Ring Gen2 Charging Dock
1. Connect the charging dock: connect the charging cable to a power source and the charging dock without placing the ring on it.
2. Test with another USB-A cable:
- Place the metal end of a separate USB-A cable just above the charging dock light, where the ring usually sits, as displayed below
- Note: Make sure the metal portion of the cable is pushed up against the center of the charging dock. If the two aren't touching, the light won’t turn on
3. Check the charging dock light
- If the charging dock doesn't illuminate:
- Rotate the USB-C end of the charging cable 180º
- Try using a different power source, such as a USB wall plug, laptop, or power brick
- Try using a different USB-C cable

To continue troubleshooting, place the ring on the size- and generation-specific charging dock.
Oura Ring Gen3 and Later Charging Docks
Oura Ring 5, Oura Ring 4, and Gen3 charging docks include a red-green-blue (RGB) light to indicate charging status. After placing the ring on the charging dock:
- If the charging dock light illuminates white and then fades away, leave your ring on it for two minutes and try to connect again. If the issue still isn’t resolved, contact us and let us know which troubleshooting steps you’ve already tried
- If the charging dock light doesn't illuminate, or if the issue still isn't resolved, contact us and let us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried
- If the charging dock light blinks blue:
- This indicates the ring isn't currently paired to a device and is ready to connect via Bluetooth. This can occur:
- When setting up the ring for the first time
- After performing a factory reset

- If the charging dock light blinks red:
- For Oura Ring 5 and Oura Ring 4 charging docks
- Contact us and let us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried

- Take the ring on and off the charging dock a few times to see if you're able to establish a proper charging connection (look for a flashing white light)
- Make sure your ring has the latest firmware installed
- A message will appear at the top of your Oura App's home screen if a firmware update is available
- If the light is still blinking red, try performing a factory reset on the ring
- If the factory reset doesn't resolve the issue, contact us and let us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried
