Setting Up Your Replacement Ring

Note: Setting up a new ring disconnects your current ring from your account. Data history that has been synced to your Oura account will be safe.

Follow These Steps Before Setting Up a Replacement Ring

  1. Go to your device's Bluetooth settings (Settings -> Bluetooth)
  2. Locate your old ring in the list of devices (e.g., oura_A038xxxxxxxx), and tap the (i) or Settings icon to unpair/forget the device."

Setup for iOS and Android, Version 2.0 or Later

  1. Place your ring on the charger and make sure it's charging (light starts flashing slowly).
  2. Go to the Oura app's home screen. Tap the ring icon in the upper right corner. Swipe to the next page, scroll down, and select "Set up new ring". This action disconnects your current ring from your account. (If your old ring is not connecting and the icon is spinning, tap it).
  3. The app will now revert to the new user setup screen. Connect your new ring to the charger and follow the instructions to pair it with the app. 
  4. The ring will be ready for use after the pairing of the new ring is complete and the initial synchronization is completed.

Setup for iOS and Android, Version 0.x

  1. Go to the Oura app Settings. Scroll down to Advanced Settings and select "Set up new ring". This action disconnects your current ring from your account.
  2. The app will now revert to the new user setup screen. Connect your new ring to the charger and follow the instructions to pair it with the app.  
  3. The ring will be ready for use after the pairing of the new ring is complete and the initial synchronization is completed.

Having Trouble With Your New Ring? 

If you are having trouble taking your new ring into use, please check if the ring is able to fully charge. If the charging has finished but you can see that the ring is only about 60-70% charged, it could mean that the ring is in power saving mode. To get the ring off power saving mode, please follow these steps:

Start by placing your ring on the charger (power connected) and manually backing up your data: Settings -> Your Oura account -> Back up all data.

Next, perform a factory reset on the ring: Open My Oura Ring - view from the Main view's right upper corner. Swipe left to the page with your ring details. Select 'Factory reset.' Once you have completed the reset:

1. Keep the ring on the charger when proceeding with re-connection and make sure it's charging (light starts flashing slowly).

2. Reinitialize the ring by removing it from your phone's Bluetooth devices (if listed),

3. Continue to re-connecting the ring following App instructions.
