There are two ways to get a prepaid Oura Membership:
- With an Oura Ring purchase: When buying an Oura Ring from the Oura online store, you have the option to add a one-year prepaid membership to your purchase
- Through an organization: Some organizations or healthcare providers offer a prepaid Oura Membership as part of wellness programs, corporate initiatives, or other benefits
Even with a prepaid membership, you’ll receive a complimentary first month before your prepaid plan starts.
Activating and Troubleshooting Prepaid Membership
To activate your prepaid membership, enter an email address to set up your Oura account. This email can differ from the one used to purchase your Oura Ring and will serve as your login across all Oura services, including your membership.
Your prepaid membership will automatically be applied to the first Oura account you create during setup. Once linked, it can't be transferred to another account. If you delete your Oura account, you'll no longer have access to your prepaid membership, as it's tied to the account where your Oura Ring was first connected.
If you have a prepaid membership—whether through an Oura Ring purchase or provided by your organization or healthcare provider—but are still being asked to enter payment information, here are some common situations and solutions.
I paid for a prepaid membership when I purchased my ring:
Even with a prepaid membership, you'll need to add a payment method to activate it. Don't worry, though—your payment method won't be charged until your prepaid months are complete. This includes your first complimentary month, followed by the 12 months of your prepaid membership. You can check your membership information in the Settings menu in your Oura App or by directly visiting Membership Hub.
My membership is paid for by an organization:
If your membership is through an organization, and you're being asked to enter payment information, it might be because the app hasn't successfully paired with your Oura Ring via Bluetooth. Without a proper connection, the app can't recognize the prepaid membership.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot pairing issues:
- Make sure your ring is placed on the charger
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
- Try turning off your device's Wi-Fi
- Uninstall and reinstall the Oura App
If Bluetooth pairing still fails, you can either skip ahead and enter payment information or contact Oura Member Care for help pairing your ring. Once you've entered your payment information, your complimentary first month will begin. After the ring is successfully paired, your prepaid membership will be applied at the end of the first month, so no charges will occur.
